Tackling Tainted Drywall
Excerpted from Bestwire Services: "Industry Readies for Potential Tainted Drywall Fallout "
2 November 2009

Bestwire Services

“One thing I could say is that it could take a very, very long time to sort out this whole thing," Katherine Ann Cahill, global managing director at Marsh Inc. and head of the company's Tainted Drywall Task Force. "The root cause of what is happening is not known. There are no remediation protocols -- no standards."

"The exclusions are to be handled on a state-by-state basis and have different variations with each insurer, said Cahill, so the liability issue "is really all over the board." Marsh's task force devoted to the overseas drywall dilemma is aimed at assisting all clients -- construction, subcontractors, banks and homeowners. Each are "very concerned," she said."
