John Albrecht is the Global Growth Leader for Marsh’s FACS Practice, which provides a full range of forensic accounting, insurance claims, and litigation support services to clients throughout the world. In addition to supervising a staff of consultants in the review of damage claims and insurance valuations, Mr. Albrecht focuses on driving the business development and sales efforts of the practice.
With over 20 years of domestic and international accounting experience in consulting, financial analysis, and forensic accounting, Mr. Albrecht leads a team of skilled professionals in providing the measurement of damages, business valuations, and financial investigations to clients such as Fortune 500 companies, law firms, and not-for-profit organizations. His expertise spans a range of industries including retail, manufacturing, construction, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, financial, governmental, telecommunications, petrochemical, power and utilities, mining and metals, and food processing.
Mr. Albrecht has provided claim preparation services for losses such as business interruption, extra expense, third-party liability, property damage and repair costs, inventory, earnings, and personal injury. Many were caused by fires and natural disasters, including flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic activity, and ice storms. He has also performed fraud examinations and reviewed fidelity losses for government institutions, credit unions and banks, and numerous retail and manufacturing companies. In addition, Mr. Albrecht has provided financial condition assessments as well as litigation support services for a number of law firms. As an expert witness, he has testified in court for a variety of industries such as communications, healthcare, real estate, and retail.
Mr. Albrecht has given numerous lectures and presentations including advanced business interruptions workshops for insurance adjusters, financial evidence collection classes for fire investigators and police officers, and financial arson motive seminars for law firms. Most recently, he co-authored an article for CFMA’s Building Profits Magazine entitled “How to Prepare to Quantify Damages Before a Catastrophe”.
Mr. Albrecht has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University and is a certified public accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.
