Sammy Lai is a Managing Director and the Asia Leader of Marsh Risk Consulting's Valuation Services Practice and is located in the Hong Kong office. Since 1996, he has been providing valuation and financial analyses to clients throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Sammy has managed and executed over 100 valuation and financial modeling engagements for a wide variety of clients and industries, with specific expertise in the power sector. He has also provided a range of services including the valuation of business enterprises, common and preferred stocks, intangible assets, derivatives, financial instruments, and debt. Sammy has delivered analyses for the purposes of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate and project financing, restructuring, initial public offerings, litigation support, financial reporting, and fairness opinions.
Prior to joining Marsh Risk Consulting, he held a similar position with MMC sister company Kroll. Before that, Sammy was a managing principal in charge of the Beijing office of a leading global, independent valuation services company.
He has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong and a M.B.A. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Sammy is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and a member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts.
