Allen Gilley serves as Marsh’s U.S. South Leader for the Human Capital Practice and as the national Safety and Health practice leader. He is responsible for the coordination and delivery of professional loss control services to clients, which include a variety of manufacturers, broadcast and print media, health care providers, public entities, contractors, restaurants, distributors, property management firms, and service organizations.
His primary areas of specialization include industrial hygiene, behavioral risk improvement, ergonomics, regulatory compliance, and worker safety, but he has been involved with most commonly-encountered casualty areas.
Mr. Gilley also serves as the chairman of the Marsh Atlanta Restaurant Roundtable and chairman of the Marsh Newspaper/Media Risk Control Roundtable. He is a national resource for the Marsh Hospitality Group.
Mr. Gilley joined Marsh in 1995. Prior to joining Marsh, he served with Reliance Insurance Company as corporate director of industrial hygiene. Responsibilities included selection of program candidates, development and implementation of IH technical training, quality assurance for the discipline, and preparation of technical bulletins and references. In addition to industrial hygiene related activities, he served as an auditor of field loss control departments and as a member of the head office loss control management planning team. He also worked closely with the large accounts department in assessing prospective clients, as well as developing and presenting client proposals.
Mr. Gilley speaks regularly before clients and at national and regional industrial hygiene and safety conferences.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Professional Environmental Auditor/Safety & Health (CPEA), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM), American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Professional Member, and American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Professional Member.
