As the Global Reputational Risk and Crisis Management Practice Leader at Marsh, Ms. Merdinger provides informed advice and counsel to clients across a wide range of strategic and operational challenges—from public policy to products liability and product recall; from workplace and labor issues to business interruption and natural disasters; from shareholder/consumer/NGO activism to corporate malfeasance, regulatory investigations, and litigation.
At Marsh, Ms. Merdinger has built a practice specializing in crisis, issues and reputation management; public affairs; community, government, and financial relations; and internal communications. Her role is to help clients establish, enhance, and safeguard their relationships and positively position their most sensitive and important issues with the institutions, individuals, and audiences that influence the outcome of their business objectives.
With more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Merdinger has assisted all types of organizations—public and private, large and small—in virtually every industry, including financial services, energy, manufacturing, retail, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, technology, government, consumer products, food and agriculture, communications, and professional services.
Ms. Merdinger began her career representing the Government of Guyana during the Jonestown incident. Soon afterwards she went to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), where she managed the association's public affairs and public education efforts around products liability, mass tort, and medical malpractice. She also has experience in broadcast news as an investigative reporter and producer on several network and syndicated television news magazine shows.
She holds a Post-Graduate Certification from New York University and a B.S./M.S. degree from Boston University in Public Relations/Mass Communications.
