Property Risk Consulting and Emergency M
Robert Smith, Jr.
Property Risk Consulting Practice Leader

Loss of physical assets and operational capabilities can quickly translate into lost market share, reduced revenue, and diminished shareholder value. In this uncertain environment, loss control strategies are about staying in business, no matter what. Understanding an organization’s goals, business objectives, and industry challenges is key to building a loss control program that is effective and enables a company to manage their property-related exposures.

Mr. Smith is responsible for establishing the directions and supporting Marsh’s National Property Risk Control practice. This includes technical support, product development, staff development, quality control, and consulting services. Mr. Smith has significant experience conducting audits for compliance with local and national codes and regulations in multiple industries. He has provided special studies of public water supply reliability, fire protection design, hazards assessments, protection needs, and the effectiveness of management loss control programs.

Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics from Valparaiso University. He is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers as well as the National Fire Protection Association.
